The government of the Republic of Kosovo has adopted proposed budgetary division changes for 2020.
Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami, in presenting the amendments, has said the challenge of the David-19 pandemic has forced changes and revision of the budget to address the issue.
According to her, no initial project has been removed and that savings will return to future budgetary processes.
“Budget reflects the priorities that emerge from the government's” program, she said.
It has added that economic decline is expected in 2020, while stressing that they expect growth in 2021, by 5 percent.
The 2020 budget revenues of over 1 billion and 788m euros expect a 5 per cent drop. With the return of economic growth, we expect increased revenues in 2021. Budget costs are expected to be 2 billion and 620 million. The budget deficit is expected to be 6.5 per cent gross local product”, it added.
Bajrami has announced that several funds received from the Environment Ministry have been returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the budget of two million euros has been added to the ministry of foreign affairs. 1.4m euros have been added to the Labour Ministry, while stressing that 336 thousand euros have been added for the rent fee for the Ministry of Agriculture. The amount of 400 thousand euros has been added to the Ministry of Culture.
The changes to the budget now require the approval of the Kosovo Assembly.
The Hoti government has pledged 1.2 billion euros for economic recovery in 2020 and 2021.
