Kosovo is not part of the World Health Organisation ( OBS. Although the country has been helped by this organization during the Coronavirus pandemic, it would be even greater if it were a member of its aid.

Epidemiologists and doctors have talked about Online Economy about what benefits Kosovo would have had had it been OBS member.

Epidemiologist Lul Raka says even though Kosovo has not been a member, there have been continued co-operation with the WTO.

Kosovo is not part of the WTO because it has not applied. To be admitted, a request must be made by the head of state, the prime minister, the minister of foreign affairs. Even though we were members we've had cooperation with the OBS, but being a member has some benefits compared to U. NESTON only needs 50% of the vote. We continue meetings and co-operation with the WTO” he added.

Even Blerim Syla, chairman of the Federation of Kosovo Health Unions, in an interview for Online Economics, has said penalisation to be part of the WTO comes from our politicians who have not known to build strategies.

Syla said not only Kosovo has not been accepted as a member of the WTO, but it doesn't even figure on their map.

But on the other hand is the WTO, which has been expecting political movements since it operates within the United Nations and that's why Kosovo is not yet a member of the WTO.

A lot of projects and many representatives from the OBS have come from the post-war, to the quality of advisers. We've had an office which is still functional as the OBS office, but we're not OBS members. The fact that we're not OBS members is mutual, first by our politicians who haven't been able to build strategies. The only way we get there is because we're not on their map today, but on the other hand, I think it's the WTO bureaucracy that looks like it expected political movements because it's operating within the United Nations and that's why we're not members of the OBS” Syla added.

Among other things, Syla said they have consistently sought advice from the OBS, but they have not received concrete assistance.

Syla has said several small projects have been taken, and this has damaged the ongoing education of medical workers, even though the attempt to get drugs has been continuous.

Kosovo has consistently requested assistance, as has the council, but concrete assistance we have not received and this must first create resolutions among states that are members of the WTO but also benefit projects slightly larger than we have received. We've taken some small projects, and this has damaged the ongoing education of medical workers. Even though we've been trying to get the drug lists but we haven't managed to be part of the OBS”, he added.

According to him, there have been requests from Kosovo in the quality of advisers, but this is not WHO's proper support, because it has been able to do more in this direction.

The Councils would be better, and we would receive the help that goes to us a little bit more that we get from this organization. Even the exchange of experiences between states within the OBS, then the profit would be much greater than we already have. We have had requests from Kosovo in the quality of the advisers, but I am not satisfied with the support of the WTO, because it has been able to do much more in this direction” Syla added.

While Pleratat Sejdiu from the Oda of Kosovo Doctors, in an interview for Online Economics, has said that even despite the WTO application, Kosovo cannot be accepted because it must first be a full member of the UN.

“Even if we apply to the WTO we cannot be accepted into the World Health Organisation because in its constitution we must be full UN member, automatically we are disqualified for any application for”, Sejdiu added.

Sejdiu has said that Kosovo's membership has damaged health policies rather than doctors. According to him, the WTO office has made a contribution to Kosovo in terms of supplies, but not as much as it should be if it were, it would be a member of the United Nations.

Kosovo's non-membership has damaged health policies more than doctors as individuals and these are health policies, so this means that participation in forums and participation in the framework of funds that are earmarked for states in developing health systems until the declaration of independence we have been under the United Nations protectorate, particularly sharing a share in the vaccine problem, in establishing health policies we have benefited from declaring independence”, he said.

He said if we were members of the WTO, we'd be in advance of supplies.

“We would certainly be among the priorities of providing funds in terms of Kosovo itself. We can compare this to the states of the European Union where it is a large amount of money based on the very inhabitants of these states and the remaining Western Balkans. What if we were O? The BSH benefits from buying at a much cheaper price of spending materials, but even when it comes to the vaccine issue”, Sejdiu added.

Kosovo, with membership in the WTO, would have benefited more in politics than in practice, because it is among the most advanced areas in the health system.

Sejdiu said the OBS is active in buying vaccines and at a very cheap price, he also offers member states.

Kosovo would have gained more in politics than in practice, especially after that Kosovo is in the more advanced health system area, because most investments are made in low-income countries. We'd be part of a family where the bread is shared every time of those funds that are billions of data from all states”.

“Don't know how many have been involved O The B.N. is active in buying vaccines and at a very cheap price that the OBS is offering to member states themselves. The Ministry of Health through the OBS have benefited from the low prices that were purchased by the WTO” he added.
