Do you know what the most expensive city in the world is for foreigners?

Hong Kong is the most expensive city in the world for foreigners, a study by the American company Mercer estimates.

The study measures the cost of 200 things including housing, transportation, food, clothing, household items and entertainment in 209 cities.

Mostly due to high housing prices, Hong Kong takes first place for the second consecutive year.

The capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, follows.

High prices at Ashgabat are said to be the result of high inflation in Turkmenistan.

The third on Mercer's list is Tokyo, followed by Switzerland's Cyril.

Switzerland has two more cities in the top ten: Bern and Geneva.

Mercer's study is often used by corporations to set salaries and benefits for their employees abroad.
