The EU is not expected for dialogue: Ready to resume despite charges against Thaci

The European Union expects dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia to resume in July, despite recent political developments in the country that connect with the indictment against President Hashim Thaci by The Hague Special Prosecutor. Peter Stano, spokesperson for the EU High Representative Josep Borell, has said so. [...]
Peter Stano, spokesperson for the EU High Representative Josep Borelli, has said so at a news conference.
When it comes to normalising Pristina-Belgrade reports, then we are talking about dialogue mediated by the European Union. This dialogue has no alternative. We have promises from the two sides that dialogue will continue and we expect it to happen in July”, Stano said.
He has said it is Kosovo who decides who represents it at meetings in Brussels, and that the European Union does not deal with such a thing.
The “depends on Kosovo for choosing who to best represent its interests in the current situation”, Stano has said.
The EU spokesman has further said that Kosovo and Serbia know the great importance of continuing dialogue and the benefits people will have in both states, as well as for the progress of the two states on the road to integration and access to the EU.
The European future of the people of Kosovo and Serbia passes through an EU-brokered dialogue” has added further.
Stano has also said that the EU expects Kosovo institutions to respect obligations taken in terms of rule of law and the Special Prosecutor's mandate and determine who will represent in the dialogue.
Besides dialogue with Belgrade, Kosovo authorities must do much to alleviate the consequences of the Corona virus, but also to devote all their energy and attention to economic, health and social issues”, Stano has concluded.
