Travelers from Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo and Northern Macedonia will be isolated for two weeks after arriving in Croatia. The transit travellers will be exempt, Croatian Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic explained.
Since mid-May, the country had almost lost track of infections, but the situation suddenly deteriorated last week when the country started reporting up to 30 new cases of COVID-I per day.
This new outbreak of the disease coincided with part of the international tennis tournament Adria Tour held for charity.
After the event, Novak Djokovic, the host of the tournament, his wife and three other tennis players resulted in positive for the coronary.
The tournament had started in Belgrade, in a crowded stadium, as the AFP says.
Serbia has also tried to contain the explosion, but only on Wednesday, health authorities there recorded 143 new cases within 24 hours.
The country recently held the first general elections in Europe since the beginning of the pandemic.
Bosnia, Northern Macedonia and Kosovo have also marked all increase in infections since the beginning of June.
