With nearly 700,000 cases, Brazil ranks second, followed by Russia (467.073), United Kingdom (287,621), and India (257,486).
But testing rates vary greatly in all these countries the availability of US testing has improved in recent weeks, but experts say Brazil and India, which have done much less tests, are likely to have far more infections than reported, the BBC reports.
Of course, the population size change is important to consider, reports the BBC.
The U.S. has some 330 million people, while India has over 1.3 billion. And there's a lot of smaller nations that have more cases than the size of their population than these five big countries.
