In a letter published in the British Medical Journal, they say local infections are increasingly possible, and a second wave is already a real danger.
The warning comes at a time when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a further easing of restrictions in England from July 4th. Bars, restaurants, cinemas and wigs will reopen, and the 2m social distance rule will be replaced by 1m.
Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland must continue to maintain the 2m physical distance rule at the moment.
Scientists reiterate the call for revision to create a “non-party approach, four nations of” to give recommendations for action.
