Bajrami: Work to restore economy to normal state

Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami declared today that following implementation of the economic recovery package due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be worked as soon as possible to compensate for the economic downturn and return to normal conditions.

It was announced during today's meeting with Kosovo Tax Administration head Ilir Murtezaj, with special emphasis on revenues, which in May have had a return to tax normal, following the critical period of pandemic.

ATK's director also reported on handling tax debts, which has received positive assessments from international institutions, adding that the situation created by the pandemic even in the debt share has yielded its negative effect.

“The ATK from March 12th 2020, following the decision of the Ministry of Finance and Transfers, has helped Kosovo Government with measures to prevent COVIID-19, accepting convictions from citizens and conducting inspections of businesses that have misused the situation created by the Coronavirus to raise the prices of basic food and health articles, so that it can be implemented in precise terms, ATK has reduced to the minimum activities of regular work under the 2020x1>, Murteza said.

Minister Bajrami, meanwhile, stressed that with the start of implementing the economy's recovery package -- namely, the previous measures in the short-term -- would concentrate on the earlier the economic downturn and return to normal condition.
