Austria announced on Wednesday that it would reopen the border with Italy from June 16th and that it would allow free travel by most European countries, by this date.
Last week, she has lifted her travel restrictions for some neighboring countries, but she has expelled Italy from one of the worst hit countries by the Coronavirus pandemic in Europe.
“Yes, opening the border. For example, travel to Italy, Greece, Croatia will be possible”, Austria's Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said at a news conference in Vienna.
From June 16th, Austria will host travelers from 31 countries without restrictions.
Exceptions are Sweden, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom, Schallenberg said.
Travelers from these countries will have to have a negative test for Coronavirus or toʹi undergo quarantine for two weeks.
Sweden is on the list due to the rapid increase in the number of Corleone infected in recent days, Austrian Health Minister Rudolf Anschober said.
