Kosovo citizens from now on can report cases without going to police stations thanks to the new “app Call 911”
In the case of launching this app, Kosovo Police General Director Rashit Qalaj said this electronic platform will be a great relief to citizens who can report various cases.
At a media conference, he said reporting through this platform would be much more confidential and that he expects greater cooperation from citizens.
This will be a relief for Kosovo citizens, to report the cases with which they are also reporting, but so far physically, and now it will be digital, so much easier and the announcement will be much more confidential. Many citizens who are reluctant to present cases because of procedures and who sometimes tend to miss out on the occasion because they do not want to mention the name. This app is also very important for the efficiency of police as our officers will be much faster in responding to the case and we will have better communication with citizen”, Qalaj said.
While, O Mission Leader The SBE in Kosovo, Jan Braathu, said that this app can have access to all citizens.
Waiting for more success to come, I am very happy to be here once more and to provide some support for the Kosovo Police, this time in launching the digital application reporting program “Inform police”. We all know that communication at this time is much more than what we do in person, telephones and information technology have become an integral part of our lives, and we have often found ourselves. I think each of us in the situation where we saw things on the streets that we would like to report, but we didn't know how. We now have this information app on the mobile phone. It offers mobile access to crime reporting, violence reporting, security issues in communications and other things. He even allows the public to present anonymous advice to the Kosovo police, all of this is extremely important for investigating and preventing crime”, he said.
Otherwise, the project has been launched with the support of the OSCE mission.
