The ridiculous statement had issued former Finance Minister Besnik Bislimi saying that Kurti government has lowered unemployment, at a time of pandemic when the whole world is endangered and there are huge economic losses and job losses.
Former Minister Bislimi was named by connoisseurs of the non-professional economy, his ridiculous statements that he lowered unemployment, even today the GAP Institute is declaring that Kosovo is facing job losses.
Gap is saying that the pandemic caused by the COVIID-19 virus has also broadly affected economically in Kosovo, a study of them shows that during April alone in Kosovo over 32 thousand people are registered as unemployed, where a beautiful part of them are women, the news writes.net.
According to the institute, this is a record record figure of registered unemployed people, with a simple average, that every day about 1600 people are registered as unemployed.
This report shows how the spread of pandemic in Kosovo, coupled with limiting the movement of citizens and closing many business activities, had an immediate impact on the labour market. A total of 32,377 new job seekers have been registered in April alone, causing the total number of job seekers at the Employment Agency to hit 37,392 in the first four months of 2020. A large part of them (16,820) are women. Given the very low share of women's economic activity and other employment barriers, the unemployment rate among women may increase even more.
Data from the Kosovo Tax Administration shows that industries which employ mostly workers in Kosovo -- the majority and retail trade, construction and processing industry -- marked a major decline in workers during the January-March 2020 period. While about 80 thousand people worked in the majority and retail industry in March 2019, in March 2020 that number dropped to about 43 thousand. Even the number of taxpayers to the Kosovo Pension Fund (Trust) has marked a reduction of about 20% in most of Kosovo's municipalities”, said among other things in the GAPCE communiqué.
