While no workers have been paid for April. For pay compensation, over 1965,000 workers have applied, the KOHA reports.
For the month of March so far, 175 thousand workers have been compensated.
These delays, according to Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami adviser Lulzim Krasniqi, have occurred because of the large volume of work at the Verification Commission. He has said that with budget review, expected to take place during this week or early next week, sufficient means for implementation of the Packo as a whole will be shared.
With budget review, sufficient means will be provided on relevant budget lines. Preparing the revision, I believe, will take place this week, at the latest until the beginning of next week in Government. The package will be implemented as a whole”, Krasniqi said.
But according to the chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Berat Rukiqi, emergency Packo means have been depreciated because of the prolonged implementation.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Independent Workers' Union, Yusuf Azemi, has said that unless payments are made to workers, there will be protests.
But, former Finance Minister Besnik Bislimi has said that delays in Pako implementation have occurred because some of the accounts have been miscalculated, and have taken time for improvement.
He has added that another part has asked for compensation from the company, even though they have failed to fulfill their obligations to employers.
A section of them miscalculated and took time for improvement (c. 8 000). The rest are compensation to the employer, and they had to be looked at correctly because there were companies that wanted the company to run, even though they failed to comply with their commitments to employers. And there are companies that are known to have operated and they shouldn't have applied at all. But, however, most have taken the means for the first month and now they have to take over the second month”, Bislimi said.
In the absence of financial means, part of the measures by the Emergency Fiscal Package approved by former government Kurti have not been implemented.
