The number of rejected entrances refers to the period until 11 June, German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer told the German newspaper.
He said that since March 16th, when the raids were temporarily introduced, 6,000 police officers were conducted.
The Interior Ministry said 122 police officers were infected by the virus, but did not provide more details.
Seehofer said these were among the most complex police operations and praised the officers for their work and thanked them on behalf of the government.
Germany plans to remove border controls tonight at midnight due to COVID-19.
