At least 19 dead from a tank explosion

A Chinese state newspaper has reported that 19 people have died and another 172 have been injured following the explosion of a tank in southeastern China.

Gas-filled tanker exploded at the exit of a highway in the province's Taizhou town of Zheijang on Saturday afternoon. The blast caused flame and smoke seen from a great distance.

The media reported that the cause of the accident is being investigated, writes “Reuters”, the newspaper Express broadcast.

The government commission, which is responsible for security, has called for the investigation into the case to be conducted within a certain period of time, without specifying it.

This commission has called for police to strengthen the rule of law by focusing on vehicles carrying dangerous materials.
