Vuhan, the Chinese town where the new coronavirus erupted last year, has tested 1,470,950 people for this virus on Friday, officials have said.
Earlier this month, Chinese authorities have set an ambitious target for testing the entire population of 11 million in less than two weeks.
They believe this is the best way to ensure safe reopening of businesses and schools.

This campaign aims to identify drivers without symptoms... persons who are infected but who show no signs of illness.

The number of tests conducted overnight has increased gradually. On May 18th, this city conducted 467,847 tests, while by Thursday, the number has increased to more than 1 million.

This news comes as China has not reported a new case on its affected territory since the Devivar-19 disease, which causes the Coronacterius, erupted.

China has so far recorded more than 84,000 infected persons and 4,600 deaths as a result of this virus.
