Sweden extends border closure by June 15th

Sweden will extend the ban on domestic international travel for non-resident EU citizens for another 30 days, as part of measures to curb the spread of the new coronary, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said today.

According to the government, the decision was made in line with a European Commission recommendation.
The entry will be available to EU citizens, as well as to residents of the Schengen area countries such as Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
Other exceptions will apply to diplomats, health personnel and people who deliver critical goods, as well as to seasonal workers in the agriculture sector.
The Swedish Public Health Agency recorded some 28,500 new cases of infection and 3 529 deaths from COVIDD-19 today.
