Kosovo's Statistics Agency has published the input prices index in agriculture for the first quarter of this year, where goods and services consumed in agriculture reportedly have an increase of 1.7 per cent, compared to the same period in 2019. In contrast, goods and services contributing to agricultural investments have an increase of 7.8 per cent.
According to the AKS, this publication is based on the prices of agricultural inputs collected in Kosovo.
“Price collection is conducted in agricultural drugs, veterinarian drugs, in companies, markets and other countries, where agricultural input prices are available. Some agricultural input prices are received from consumption prices (IHÇK) in the AK. Productions, which provide basis for the input price index, are divided into two main groups, goods and services currently consumed in agriculture and goods and services contributing to investments in agriculture. Within the current number of goods and services consumed in agriculture, prices are collected according to the following groups: seeds and sweeting materials, energy; oils, garbage and land repair, products for protection of plants and pesticides, veterinarian expenses, animal food expenses, materials maintenance, building maintenance, and other goods and services. As for goods and services contributing to agricultural investments, prices are collected for materials (fuels and other equipment), buildings and others (unresident farm facilities, other jobs besides land improvement). In the first quarter of 2020, the input 1 index has an increase of 1.7%, compared to the same period in 2019. The Input 2 index, on the other hand, has an increase of 7.8%”, said the communique.
Meanwhile, the overall input index has an increase of 4.6%, compared to the same period in 2019.
