Maria Branyas has lived in a nursing home in the northeast city of Olot for two decades.
She celebrated her birthday in March shortly before the outbreak of pandemic.
Her family may have thought that they would never see her again because of the coronary infection.
But after weeks of isolation, she has recovered, having faced only mild symptoms.
Maria was born in the American city of San Francisco in 1907 in the year of a great earthquake.
It has overcome two world wars, a civil war and Spanish flu in 1918-19.
Asked about the secret of her long life, she said she had only enjoyed good health.
