Three Student Organizations U SPOK, SCOK and Critical Research, Action has warned protests from 11:00 prior to MSTATI against the decision to appoint three members of the University of Pristina's Steering Council. The media report also calls on other UP students to be part of the protest.
“Today, by observing the IKSHP recommendations and maintaining social distance, we invite UP students to join us in protest against the Ministry of Education's unfair decision to appoint three people to the Steering Council, two of whom are ministers of private colleges. A few days ago, we called for this decision to be reversed, but the minister refused. So we are forced to protest that decision. THE primary focus should have the establishment of UP and not its internal minimation by the effects of private colleges”, the report said.
The decision to appoint private college employees to the UP's Steering Council is to violate UP's autonomy, is unacceptable and endanger the quality of higher education in our country. For us as such, it will be an issue that we will go to the end, as we have gone to the case of former sector Ibrahim Gashi, former professor Teuta Pustina and other cases of professors who have been fired for various reasons. The university is ours, we will not give it up, as our parents and grandparents have not given up since 1968 to this day, the announcement concludes.
