Under preparations for the Zagreb Summit, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will hold phone conversations with European Council President Charles Michel tomorrow, as well as with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkov, whose state holds the rotating EU chairmanship.
The Zagreb summit between the Western Balkan countries and the EU is organised by Croatia, as the next EU chairman, along with the Evorpian Council and the European Commission, but due to the pandemic causing COVID-19 infection, the summit will not be held in Zagreb, as planned, but participants will communicate via digital means of communication from their capitals.
Kosovo at this summit is represented by the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, as the country's foreign policy leader, has confirmed in the presidency.
At the last summit between the EU and Western Balkan countries, in May 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Spain was represented at the ambassador level in Bulgaria in a sign of opposition to Kosovo's participation in the summit.
This year Spain has not rejected Kosovo's participation in this Sam.
