Novavax said the first stage of clinical testing has started at 130 healthy participants, aged 18 to 59, in Australia.
The second phase is expected to take place in several countries, including the United States, and to assess the immunity, security, and response of the community that causes the Coronavirus, COVID-19, in a wider range of ages.
Tens of vaccines are already in the early stages of testing, especially in the United States, Europe and China.
It is still unclear whether any of them will function against the Coronactrus, who has infected nearly 5.5 million people worldwide and killed over 346,000.
Each vaccine uses different technologies to promote an immune response.
Novavax experiment uses what is called recombinant nanoparty technology.
