The Federal government apparently wants to keep further easing of measures from developing infection figures.

A meeting of the prime ministers of the countries with Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss how to proceed is scheduled for Wednesday.

However, some federal agencies are already rushing into separate concrete measures to return to normal.

In Bavar, the country government has decided to reopen the beer gardens from May 18th, under certain conditions.

Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) said after a cabinet meeting that the previous exit restriction would no longer be implemented by Wednesday.

According to the state government, hotels, holiday apartments and camps squares can be reused by May 30th.

Free - time institutions like castles and amusement parks can also open their gates.

The bavarez concept also provides relief for schools, asylums and retail vendors.

Bavaria is the largest infection - and more deaths.

Söder stressed that the restrictions of past weeks have been a major success. “Corona is under control”. This makes it possible for the courage to take careful steps toward opening.

Various Decisions

Bremen decided to reopen the playgrounds and museums. Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) also said Hamburg is ready from Wednesday to undertake “larger steps” than recently in school sectors, daily gardens, sports and gastronomy.

He thinks opening hotels in May is “imagined”.

According to Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (The Greens), restaurants at Baden-Wurttemberg can also hope for an reopening soon.

By next week, sports in nature without contact like tennis and golf will be allowed again.

In Saxon-Anhalt, tourism must gradually resume on May 15th.

From May 22nd, restaurants can also open again. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had decided that on Monday evening that restaurants and bars could be reopened by Saturday.

By May 18th, hotels, pensions and holiday apartments should be able to accommodate local guests again.

The Lower Saxony had earlier announced it would reopen restaurants since Monday. Vacation apartments can also be used again.

“Maintaining distance is new daily life”

The Robert Koch (RKI) Institute positively estimates the development of the number of Corona infections in Germany. “The number of reported infections keeps dropping. This is very good news”, the president said. RKI, Lothar Wieler at a news conference in Berlin.

In the past weeks, between 700 and 1600 cases were reported in RKI every day. On Monday, there were 685.

The reproduction rate is currently estimated at 0.71 ] this means that not every patient averages the virus to another person and that the pathogen spreads more slowly.

Very important for further development is to further respect the rules of distance.

“Maintaining distance is the new daily routine”, Wieller said. “This will surely accompany us for another few months”. / DW/
