Microbiologist from Tirana: This summer, holiday can be held on the coast, but measures must be respected

Summer holidays on the Albanian coast may be allowed for Kosovo vacationers, as from the health aspect it seems nothing will prevent that fact.

So has the epidemiologist from Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, for the Ankes Office show.

This is a respiratory virus. Like all other viruses, it is more wild and has higher transmission during cold seasons. It won't disappear completely in the summer but it will be at low levels. Sun and humidity are preventing this virus, and as a result nothing prevents the development of a tourism season within the normal”, he said.

Microbiologist Alimehmeti has added that, however, it is up to the government if it will be allowed to have holidays even for foreign tourists on the Albanian coast.

But he has stressed that even in the event of allowing summer holidays in Albania and elsewhere, there will be measures to be respected on the beach by vacationers.

The “The measures will probably be more on paperwork than in reality, but people must take care of personal hygiene and maintain physical distance with unknown people”.

In the end, he also spoke of gatherings of people of various forms where he said that gatherings of any sort would be forbidden.
