At a media conference, Vitita said it is unknown whether there will be second waves of pandemic, but in this direction there will be preparation through the increased number of labs and respirators.
Over the past few months, we have provided an additional budget worth 70m euros, from the government, creditors and donors, outside the budget allocated at the beginning of the year... These vehicles will be exploited, not only in the struggle against pandemic, but will become part of capacity building in the health sector. In the weeks and months to come, we're going to add five regional labs for testing, triple the number of respiratories, increase the number of monitoring devices and treatment in all hospitals and family medicine centres, increase the number of magnetic resonances, increase the number of beds for intensive care”, Vitita said.
Otherwise, Kosovo has only one laboratory under the IKSHPK, while the number of respirators in the entire public health sector is less than 100.
