KEDS turned 7

KEDS has turned up 7 years of initial operation today. During this period the company has invested strongly in modernising the power distribution network.

There have been 148m euros invested, which have made hundreds of thousands of consumers have a better life through far more quality services.

For 7 years KED has managed to deploy over 1,000 trafos, and thousands of miles of networks. This has been accomplished thanks to over 1,500 projects realised throughout Kosovo, which have changed the view of the distribution. Over the past 7 years, work has been done for decades.

In parallel with this, KEDS has also worked very hard on digitizing equipment, through operation and services.

From the beginning, the company changed completely its way of reading and billing. Reading was soon automated through Hand Held electronic devices, devices that immediately press bills, increasing transparency, satisfaction of consumers, and minimalizing mistakes. This resulted in reduced consumer complaints to about 70 percent.

The process continued with the digitisation of the measuring points, the deployment of tens of thousands of smart digits, as it culminated in operations. Today, two digital systems are installed, the SCADA from network operations is conducted by the central KED and Kosovo targets. Net as database for everything that happens on the distributive network. This has greatly benefited consumers by cutting stoptimes, increasing reactions to interventions, accuracy and efficiency.

All of this has been accomplished thanks to the strong commitment of company workers as well. KEDS did not sit back in that regard. To improve the protection and safety of workers, the company built a modern training centre, becoming leaders for a very short period. With the mission “Zero work accidents”, KEDS today provides an example of how to organise and operate in the protection of workers and increased job security by regional companies.

Basic operations, from the start KEDS as a corporation has played a significant role in the community as well. The KED Academy had immediately started as a project that so far has prepared hundreds of students for the labour market at the highest level. But there are no other activities to help the community, performing dozens of projects, mainly oriented in education.
