The prime minister said the country had managed to control the spread of the new coronary since the state of emergency was established 7 April.
Japan has eased its restrictions since mid - May, but it has kept them in some areas, including Tokyo.
This country has recorded a relatively low number of cases and deaths compared to other countries in the world.
The total number of infected has reached 16,550, while 820 patients have died from Coddy-19.
