Although distance instruction due to the spread of pandemic is still ongoing, Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Hykmete Bajrami says that just as the prom test will be held, there will be a test of achievement for nine-graders.
Bajrami in an interview for Kosova Prees, while considering the remote learning project successful, says this school year will be postponed for lost days due to school closures due to measures against spreading COVID-19.
We can say that it is a project that can be called successful and consider that to this point we have achieved the goals we have set for ourselves as the Ministry of Education in collaboration with all municipal director on the entire territory of Kosovo. [...] We've had a break for several days because on March 11th, the government of the Republic of Kosovo made the decision since March 11th to become the provisional closure of teaching, that is, a school break on March 18th, we've started video surveillance while broadcasting started sometime on March 23rd is this period we lost. We've actually produced video materials for 1 to 9 classes according to curriculum and program plans, all those units that will be broadcast. In addition to lost days, the long-term school year must be completed according to the previous calendar, even in administrative instruction, but also in the AugustI decisions. So it can only be postponed for lost days or it'll be over by”, she said.
The education minister says that during these days the decision will be made on the arrival test, which she sees necessary for school school orientation.
The “Brenda this week or next week will be decided on the destination test as well. We need a formal assessment by experts and education ministry officials to see whether the test should be held in such estimates we do not. [...] The orientation test before all of a sudden did some sort of student orientation in schools because it's based on what they've managed to do then in different schools, whether in high school, because you know that you're looking at points of reaching different subjects and depending on that you can enroll students somewhere. So it's necessary to keep up. We'll make an effort to inform the students within weeks and believe that the test will be held there is no decision that this test will not take place this year. And for the next few years, August will make an assessment of all the tests to see that these tests really have an added value in the process of educational system”, he stressed.
The country's first education also provided details on the performance of the senior prom, which is scheduled to be held in the first week of July.
“The prom test will be more compressed. We've decided that as many as 200 questions as it was in the next few years, there are only 100 questions not to be asked in two rounds, but only one round. To develop throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo on the same date and on the same day. It will contain the question from the native language, English, mathematics and an election subject that students choose. There will be no questions from the content of the lessons that developed at a distance. [...] It's going to be in schools. We can use university space. We will carefully respect IKSHP recommendations“, Bajrami stressed.
As long as he acknowledges that distance learning does not replace him in schools, Bajrami says that through guidance for evaluation there will be no trouble in the way of appreciation.
Because of the break of teaching in Kosovo with the aim of preventing the spread of the pandemic COVID19, since 23 March of this year has started online learning. This time students are following the lessons from television rather than the way they are used to listening to their teacher at school.
