The European Union should be careful about Chinese and Russian wheels in the Western Balkans. That's what former Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj said, in a letter discussing management of the health situation in the Balkans by the Padred-19. He also says the time has come for the European Union to complete its gullibility in the Western Balkans
Former foreign minister, now deputy from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, in a recently published script in “Global Conservatives”, has talked about the impact and management of the health situation in the Western Balkans and the false information China and Russia are spreading to this part of the globe.
Hoxhaj, has said that the European Union can act as a global player and be able to understand how others view the Western Balkans, adding that the time has come for the EU to end its gullibility in this area.
The Western Balkans have never triumphed without strategic clarity from Europe. The EU has been the traditional power in the Balkans for the last 2030 years, but the coronary pandemic has taken it to China and Russia, which are trying to take over”, Hoxhaj wrote.
Former Minister Hoxhaj, says the Corleone pandemic has brought an increase in Chinese and Russian dezinative and propaganda campaigns throughout the Western Balkans, where countries in the region have neither the ability nor knowledge of how to oppose them.
“Secon second, the EU has supported the region financially and rationally during the pandemic, but Chinese and Russian diplomacy has increased in the Balkans. China and Russia have never before been committed to promoting their status as global benevolent actors, as they support Serbia with medical assistance. ”, wrote Hoxhaj further.
He has suggested that the region has made rapid progress in recent decades towards democratisation, but according to him, there may be a quick turn.
The non-liberal democracy is exactly what Kremlin and Beijing would prefer to see in the Balkans. He fits their game book”, wrote Hoxhaj.
MP PDK also says that since 2000, The EU has stressed regional co-operation.
However, according to him, we should be clear that regional co-operation in the Western Balkans, even with the dozens of structures and institutions that have been created, has failed to show solidarity during the pandemic situation in the region.
Hoxhaj has asked a question that he says the European Union and the Western Balkans would have to address.
If people do not benefit from regional co-operation in times of crisis, is it worth preserving them in time? This is a strategic question the Western Balkans and the European Union must address. The EU must define clear goals and a timeframe of how it wants to progress with expansion in the Balkans.” has written further.
Enver Hoxhaj, who had also been deputy prime minister in the past government mandate, has said that the Zagreb Summit failed to make it, and in this ever-changing international environment, the Western Balkans will triumph only when Europe has a firm commitment to the Western Balkans.
“The EU can act as a global player when it is able to understand how others view the Western Balkans and how they are not on the same page as the European Union. The time has come for the EU to complete its naiveness in the Western Balkans.” has completed its writing, former Minister Enver Hoxhaj.
