The former chairman of Albania's Academy of Sciences, Gudar Beqiray, has died, has been disclosed Monday by this academy.
“Family lost its beloved man, the Academy of Sciences the devoted colleague and academic, and we our generous friend, like AI!”, writes the Academy of Sciences.
Beqiray in 2017 was briefly at the helm of the Academy of Sciences, but during a meeting with President Ilir Meta decided to resign from office.
Who was Gudar Beqiray:
Prof Academy. Dr. Gudar Beqiraj has finished his studies at the University of Tirana, the Faculty of Sciences of Nature, the Department of Mathematics. He specializes in geostatistics near the Geostistics Centre in Fontainbleau, France, as well as in the methods of information applied to Geophysics at Paris VI University, France. In 1992 he did scientific work at the University of “La Sapienza”, Rome, Italy. In 1994, take the title “Professor”, given by the High Council of Access to the Science and Technology Committee. In 2003 the title is accommodated “Academic”, given by the Albanian Academy of Sciences, in 2012 has become a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
His scientific contribution includes: Attending the III World Geostastics Congress, Avignon, France (1987). A member of the Commission for Medical Protection at Fontainebleau, France (1988). Participants in the International Symposium for the implementation of mathematical methods in Geology-Miniera, Pribram, Czechoslovakia (1989). Participants in CODATA Symposium, Leeds, UK (1990). Participants in the International Symposium for the implementation of mathematical methods in Geology-Miniera. The silver medal presentation. Pribram, Chekoslovaki (1991). Council member of the Faculty of Economy University of Tirana. (2002-2007) Scientific Qualification Commission member near the Ministry of Education (2007).
It's a processor of different algorithms and programs in programming languages: Algoguel, Pascal, Fortran, applied in various fields, such as geophysics, geology, agriculture, oil, medicine, etc.
His professional experience is very long and rich. In 1971-03 he was a mathematician in INIMA and in 1993 Director of INIMA. In 2007-09 Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at UPT and 2009-2013 Chairman of the Albanian Academy of Sciences. 2017-2018 Director of the School of Medicine, the Mediterranean University of Albania, and the ongoing 2018 Rector of the Mediterranean University of Albania.
There is a 45-year experience as a math and IT teacher in the Universitys of Albania, as well as a professor for weightlifting at the Academy of Sports in the 1980s.
In addition to contributions in the scientific field, there are contributions to social activities and fields.
