Gjilan Mayor Lutfi Haziri has said the institution he heads had asked from the Operative Centre in Pristina that already late Agon Musliu, who ended his life Sunday afternoon, to be self-led at home and not sent to quarantine.
According to Haziri, the municipality of Gjilan had initially taken into account following the family's request that the deceased return home as soon as possible, and the Kosovo Embassy in Berlin had taken the lead in granting the request.
After arriving at the airport, the deceased's father tried to see the boy but was not allowed. After the meeting was not enabled, Naim Musliu contacted the Gjilan municipality, demanding that the boy not be sent to the Student Centre. And according to Haziri, the Communist has immediately contacted Pristina, setting forth this request.
The fact that the way the body and return from Germany to Kosovo has been through Kosovo institutions, the municipality of Gjilani has applied to the embassy in Berlin, the embassy has reacted in line with the testimony documentation and organised the return of the first plane, and this has been accomplished. I thank the response of the ambassador and embassy in the manner and in the appropriate form because we have completed all the required documentation for this case that has been given priority. In Pristina it was subjected to Pristina rules, then we had no power, we had no other option, his father who had been in contact with the municipality was personally able to contact the boy, they didn't allow him, and he told us. As it was announced to us, we have continued to insist, the Operational Centre in Pristina with testimony to Agron's case to be released and brought to his family”, Haziri said.
Gjilan's leader said the municipality he heads is going through an unimaginable tragedy and a great pain after the 25-year-old Agon Musliu case.
He said Agon was known as a wise son, an excellent student, and an extraordinary family member, but his return, his Cartanium, and the act of suicide has been fatal.
Haziri has further insisted that the entire case be cleared full and promised he would not allow the name of the deceased to be politicised or used for other purposes.
