Asked why all this haste to tear down the theater at the time of the Coronavirus, Rama indicated that it should be done at a time not to clash with artists who were trapped in the building.
If it had happened in the middle of the day, it would have been why in the middle of the day. This crash had to be averted. But I want to underline that the old national theater building of 2 years and so on was occupied, taken hostage by a group of people, was not controlled by the state. They claimed to represent all the theater people. It was impossible for the state to have normal management. We didn't want to create a conflict when the process was still in an embryoic phase. Intervention occurred without any real injuries”, Rama said.
Rama has indicated why they decided to tear down the theater.
This is the longest debate in this country's history. That standing up does not meet any conditions that can be carried out safely. The possibility to restore it is almost zero.”, he said.
