“The reopening strategy will follow in phases that the expert technical committee has approved. We will follow with the opening of nests and gardens by June 1st, whose protocol has been adopted and distributed to prepare for this date. We estimate that this protocol but all security protocols should be strictly implemented, since they are the basis for preserving population health”.
The statement was made by Albania's Minister of Health and Social Defence Ogerta Manastirliu, who attended today's meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts.
According to the minister, the second phase of reopening will continue even with the tourist season, with security protocols in the function of protection and protection of citizens, to limit the spread of COVID19.
The health minister requested maximum attention from health facilities in this second phase of reopening situation.
We must not forget that this virus continues to circulate and we must respond with all structures on alert. We entered the 12th week of the epidemic with over a thousand affected. The job now becomes harder to track contacts, so it needs to intensify by our field structures“, Manastirliu said.
Presenting the situation thus far, ISHP Director of Infectious Diseases Dr. Silva Bino called for increased awareness of young people as well.
The increase in number of cases in Tirana especially shows how careful we should be. It is time for young people to be responsible, for all populations to be responsible in order to maintain the distance and hygiene rules”, Bino said.
Chief Inspector QSUT, prof. Nayada Chomo declared that the situation is stable, but there are serious cases at the hospital and called for the cooperation of citizens.
And we need to be realistic that there are people at the infectious hospital who are in poor health, and given that we have had two deaths in a few days, it says that the continued gravity of the disease, no matter what the figure is under 20. But that figure can be reduced or increased in the coming days. The measures taken and the distance storage part are very important elements to maintain low patients' figures laid out in the efficient service”, Chomo said.
Prof. Tritan Kalo appealed for awareness by citizens. “The challenge with COVID19 has not yet ended with the awareness and self-care measures remain in force today, tomorrow and in the future”, Kalo said.
Albania's Technical Committee of Experts will continue to assess on the daily and 14-day basis of the COVID19 epidemiological situation for further decisions.
