The Bajrami Festival in Kosovo has been marked differently than other times. In symbol of sacrifice and faith in God, Muslim believers fasted the holy month of Ramadan, thus closing it with the celebration of Fiter-Grami. Many were calls from the Ministry of Health that, due to the COVID pandemic, 19, avoid visits to relatives until even mosques were closed for jelly.
Though contrary to how citizens were used to marking this holiday, they say that this time they have largely stayed at home, respecting the institutions ' measures because of the coronary pandemic.
Citizens Shemsy Muqiqi told Kosovo Press that they have shown more caution than institutions. He says that this party was hosted at home, respecting the rules.
If only our governments as citizens were regular, we were like Switzerland. Citizens have been more cautious than any Kosovo institution. We stayed at home, didn't come out, respected the rules and we intend to continue respecting”, Muqiqi said.
Another citizen, Musli Abazi, says that despite the paleer this holiday was due to the coronary pandemic, they have implemented the recommendations to the fullest.
“We've respected the maximum, as the Health Ministry said, we haven't had contact outside the family... the most pale one was because we use the case that we visit families for Bajram, because I'm very rarely seeing”, Abazi said.
And for the citizen, Nurtena Ahmeti, this Fiter-Bajram has not been very different since, as she says, the close family is close.
I got nothing. We've been preparing candy, I've had kids around like this so the relatives start leaving early. I heard a guy say they didn't want to come, now they're blaming him. However, let's see what the doctors say, and we are sticking to the rules”, Ahmeti said.
While, Halit Zjeqi, says the people of Kosovo are at the highest level of implementing health regulations.
There's no one here or anywhere. The people are at the highest level and everything that comes from health. We also respect the Islamic Community”, Zjeqi said.
And until the day of Fiter-Bajram in Kosovo was confirmed no case with COVID-19, for the first time after March 13th, it seems that this has relaxed citizens who today on Pristina squares and streets were in greater number.
However, on the first day of Fiter-Bajram, Kosovo Police have banned four people in different cities, due to the failure to comply with measures to prevent the spread of coronary pandemic. For the same reason, however, cases have been initiated against 49 others.
