The Islamic Community of Kosovo has decided that the forgiveness of Fiter Bajrami will not take place at the country's mosques Sunday 24 May.
BIK official Ekrem Simnica said that Fiter Bajram's forgiveness would not take place even outside mosques in small organisations due to the pandemic situation.
Kosovo's “Islamic Union has come up with a decision about Fiter Bajrami's forgiveness or not to say an apology in this case”.
This is an extraordinary tradition, which has not happened to us so far. At least our generations don't remember celebrating Fiter Bajrami's holiday in this form”.
“Pandemia has included our country”.
We are now in this situation that we have to stick to the guidelines of health and state experts on this issue, and this will happen in a slightly extraordinary form”.
Therefore, Fiter Bajrami's pardon will not be done at any mosque in Kosovo, but not even outside the mosques will be made any organisation”.
Simnica said that the imams of mosques would perform religious rituals in the forgiveness of Fiter Bajrami with microphones to be heard by Muslim believers.
“We have seen that all imams or museums, authorized people who are in our mosques, early Sunday morning is a holiday on Bajram's Day, they will appear at their mosques at the time of the Bajram's pardon at 05:42<1>.
We're going to be in the mosque, we're going to turn on the microphones, we're going to take the Tekbir, where we're going to say”
He further stated that Kosovo Mufti Naim Ternava on Sunday will inform believers that it is time for Fiter Bajram's pardon, and that he at the mosque will deliver a message to citizens.
