The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has informed that Albania has identified within the last 24 hours the lowest number of affected people with COVID-19, with only 2 cases since the outbreak began.
Eugene Tomini, chief of Survejanca and Epidemiic Intelligence Service near the Institute of Public Health, said that “in the country continues the presence of sporadic cases, the presence of hearths, and there is no widespread circulation in the population. The epidemiology situation in the country appears stable, given the identification of new cases, their active investigation and the number of patients being treated at the hospital. Today is the day with the lowest number of confirmed positive cases, since the beginning of the 148x1> epidemic.
Tomin informed that 168 citizens have been tested as suspects as affected by COVID-19 and have proved positive to 2 citizens in Durres County. There are 12 citizens.
The new cases are contact of those who already result positive, while the epidemiological investigation on the ground is continuing.
More than 12,500 tests have been conducted in Albania and positive confirmed with COVID-19 throughout the country of 948 citizens. Of them, about 77% are healed.
In Albania currently there are 190 active persons with COVID-19, mainly in Tirana, Durres Kruje, Shkodra.
