23 Years From Shrell's Death

Azem Shkreli takes place at the top of current Albanian poetry. In addition to quality, Shkrell's poetry marked a twist in the flow of poetry in Kosovo: it expanded thematic spectrum; it subjected it and intimated the lyrical hero and, more importantly, brought a new, keen sense of language, to the word. So she gave way [...]
Azem Shkreli was born in 1938 in Rugova, Pec. The primary school was conducted in his home country, while in Pristina he continued high school to continue his philosophical faculty, language branch and Albanian literature. For many years he has been chairman of the Kosovo Writers' Association, director of the District Theatre in Pristina and founder and director of Kosovo Film.
It has published these works in the poetry Bulzat (1960), Road Angels (1963), I know a stone fial (1969), From the Bible of Silence (1975), the baptism of the word (1981), the Night of the Papakes (1990), the Freedom of Rain (1994), Zogj and stones (1997). Prose: The white caravan (1961), Eve's eyes (1975), the wall under Albanian Seven of them, and the dramas: Fossiles (1968), jar tomb (1983) etc. His poetry has been translated into many foreign languages.
Azem Shkrell's performance as a poet, except that it coincided with the arrival of powerful talent, also marked the first turn towards the opening and modernisation of the post-war Albanian poem. It naturally stuck to the peaks of today's Albanian poetry, and this country was consolidated and reinforced from one poetic work to the last one, which left the manuscript “Zogj and stones”, published in 1997.
The event in poetry and prose of Azem Shkrell in the late 50s and early 60s marks a quality twist and a twist in literary creative practices. During the 50s, such as high school student Azem Shkreli, has been able to read from the literature of time in Albanian amatically limited poetry, with structure and artistic language design without proper authenticity. The prose was even poorer. Except for any name, (Hivzi Sulejmani) that little prose of the highly talented authors mainly dealt with thematics of war and victory through black and white clichation and the method of social realism.
Thus Azem Shkreli marked the first important turn in poetry, primarily, releasing the lyrical Uni lyre from that cholera, insulating on it the subject of love for the homeland and portraying the Transgovan soil man, with the connotations of tradition and antiquity, love of the maiden, landscape freedom, etc. On the other hand, the first major fault in Albanian, Kosovar literature, Shkrely did it with the novel “The white carvani” as well as with the stories included in the “Sites of Eve”, which remain among the most realised in our brief prose.
He died in the spring of 1997.
