There are 9 people in the Vushtrri municipality with COVID-19, and everyone's health is good. Among the infected are a 2-year-old child and two health workers, one employed at the main Family Medicine Centre and a hospital worker “Sheikh Zayed”.
A total of 39 people will be tested today who have had contact with confirmed positive people with COVID-19.
The Chairman of the Power Committee, Xhafer Tahiri, said the situation is currently under control and manageable.
After completing the first phase, if we can call it infection in our town where we had 24 infected, 23 were cured. For the last few days, we have a resurface of the virus back in the village of Studies and then three other people outside the village of Studies who have had contact with the patient who has been at the Family Medicine Center. The condition of all patients is good, all have domestic treatment, while 40 tests from which three have resulted positive and unfortunately from these three are health workers, one is a primary health worker. So of the main Family Medicine Center and the other one is hospital health workers Sheikh Zayed”, he said.
Among those infected with COVID-19 is a 2-year-old child, but according to Tahiri, the child's health is stable.
He said that today it will be a test of 39 people who have had contact with confirmed positive people with Corleone.
And we have a 2-year-old child among those who are infected, of course that's the painful part of all dealing with the virus, but the condition of all patients is presented well and we hope that they will recover as soon as possible and have no other complications... Today we're going to have 39 new contact tests of these people to track the virus as quickly as possible and to prevent the spread of the virus. Municipal Emergency Staff, Main Family Medicine Centre, along with IKSHPK, has been put in full motion since the first moment to track the contact of these patients so that they can then be prevented from spreading. All their contacts have been tracked, the test is being done, and we expect this situation to pass the way we have passed the first phase with excellent cooperation of all local acts, but also with extremely good cooperation of citizens and businesses”, he said.
Since the first case with COVID-19 is from the village of Upper Studies and all contacts have been traced, Tahiri said they see no reason for this village to enter quarantine. However, he said they are carefully implementing all measures that are in force.
Mayor Tahiri said there will be penalties for all who do not respect these measures.
We're only implementing the rigorous measures that are, of course, there will be a tightening of the measures and greater implementation, and there will be penalties for those who do not respect the measures of both businesses and citizens. We will have no tolerance for anyone who does not implement protective measures, and we expect to actually continue with the very good co-operation we've had with citizens and businesses so that we can get along well this time. I have no doubt that we as a city will succeed this time, as we did the first time, now we have the experience and I believe we will succeed very successfully with this wave of” infection, he said.
Like Komuna, Tahiri said they have come to the aid of needy families. He said that in addition to families in assistance, more than 1,000 other families have been affected economically.
Success story according to Tahiri for the Vushtrri municipality is online learning, where he said student participation in the lesson is 95 per cent. He claimed that they would also donate equipment to 236 children who were not able to attend the lesson.
Only families that are not in social assistance, but have been hit economically in this period have more than a thousand and 500 families assisted through various donors. Also, all families in social assistance are getting help with food packages and toilet packages. Another success story in this period is undoubtedly the organisation of online instruction in our schools, the level of participation in online learning is 94.5 percent, or 95 percent. We've identified 236 children who haven't been able to attend online learning because they haven't had a smart phone or haven't had a laptop and through donors to date we've secured half the laptops for these kids, so we've secured close to 130 and we expect that within this week maybe we can meet the number of laptops for these children”, he said.
Xhafer Tahiri's leader has called on citizens to continue respecting physical distance and maintain mask gloves.
Before the release of new cases with COVID-19, there were 24 people in Vushtrri with COVID-19, where 23 have recovered and one person has died.
All over the country are 919 cases of COVID-19, 671 healed, and 29 people have died.
