Over 170 thousand workers of various private companies in Kosovo have applied for pay compensation based on the emergency fiscal package. From April 11th, when the application for profit has started from the fiscal package by Friday to ATK, demand for compensation and subsidisation of the rent has submitted over 400,000 businesses.
Ilir Murtezaj, general director of the ATK, says of Kosova Prers, that there are over 1,500 employees whose contracts have been cut off and for whom compensation has been required. However, more than 11 thousand others have signed in March of this year.
“From the 11th time the application of businesses to take advantage of the emergency fiscal package has applied a total of 40,848 businesses by Friday afternoon. Where in their context we have 30,911 businesses that have applied for pay compensation, while we have 7 thousand 581 businesses that have demanded compensation for the rent. Those that have sought pay compensation are businesses, which, according to the measure of 3A, measure 7, 8 and 14 that have sought to benefit are category A, B and C. 143 thousand of 668 workers are required for the measure A -- worth 170 euros -- active workers who businesses, due to financial difficulties, have failed to make up for the total return of”, Mirtezaj says.
Those who worked at the market, pharmacy, and oven during this time demand for compensation from the emergency package are for 15 thousand and 847 workers.
And the total requirement for involvement in the emergency package is for 172 thousand 826 workers.
“The large share of the “A” has almost been reviewed, some requests remain which for one or several reasons require a more specific verification. While those that have had and have been everything in the context of procedures and requirements based on the fiscal emergency package, they have only been executed. Even for employees themselves as a list of businesses that have sought compensation, it as a list Friday afternoon has been verified by the commission and submitted for further execution procedures”, he adds.
According to him, the deadline for prescribing the application for involvement in this emergency package is until May 15th. However, after May 15th, no demands will be valid.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government on March 13th has made a decision to close businesses due to curb the spread of COVID-19 disease, which causes pandemic and corona virus. But to help businesses and other categories of society, the Government of Kosovo, with the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Transference, has approved the Fiscal Emergency Pack worth 179.6m euros, which must be implemented by the ATK.
Of this value, 61m euros have been earmarked for wages and workers worth 170 euros, respectively, 130 euros for the next two months, who have lost their jobs due to pandemics, subsidies for 50 per cent and pension contributions.
