The American civil servant who discovered the vicinity between Bill Clinton and a parking lot at the White House that nearly ended his presidency.
Linda Tripp, passed away at the age of 70 after she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, has arranged for her family on Wednesday.
The incidents that Tripp had made her conversations with Monica Lewinsky were made essential in the trial of no-confidence against President Clinton in 1998.
The former civil servant, who worked at the Pentagon and had a friendship with Mrs. Lewinsky despite the almost 24-year-old distinction, learned that the young woman had had sexual relations with the president and began secretly recording their conversations in 1997.
Tripp handed the records to Kenneth Starr, the special prosecutor who directed the investigation into Clinton Administration.
She also found out that Mrs. Lewinsky had a blue dress that was allegedly contaminated by President's sperm a detail that remained in the public's imagination.
