The White House published what it described as a comprehensive summary of its efforts to make sufficient tests available for COVID-19 so that states can test at least 2.6 percent of their population each month.
Areas that have been hit more heavily by the coronary will be able to test twice as much, or higher than the average level. President Trump and his administration's medical experts introduced the plan during a call with state governors Monday afternoon, and Trump announced that businesses like the CVS pharmacy would expand access to tests across the country.
Monday's developments were aimed at filling critical gaps in the White House's plans to start the country's “opening”, increasing virus testing as it shifts the president's focus on recovering the economy hit hard by the coronary pandemic.
Speaking at a press conference in the White House courtyard Monday evening, President Trump said that “test won't be a problem”, Adding, “has a strong desire to reopen our country”.
The president said his plan would guide states on how to dramatically increase the testing and tracking of contacts of infected persons.
During telephone conversation with state governors, President Trump suggested that many states should consider reopening schools before the end of the school year to facilitate parents' return to work.
Some of you need to think about opening schools because many people want the opening of schools”, Trump said in conversation with the governors. The Associated Press news agency had received an audio recording of phone conversations between President Trump's administration and state governors.
