Last time to operate in the north, Serbian agents can exploit the situation, Ibishi says

Security Affairs Knower Nuredin Ibishi says municipalities in the country's north have consistently worked on the Republic of Serbia programme, especially in the field of education and health.

While now says Serbia is trying to exploit the COVID-19 pandemic to expand its influence on that part.

He even warns that different agents have already been set in motion to disrupt our state and constitutional system.

Remembering that Serbian institutions in the north have continued to work on their programmes both in health and education, but in particular, when it comes to fighting corruption and where the situation is sensitive across the country, there are warnings that they have also used their own agents in the north in order to make instructions in our state and constitutional system. I think our institutions had to take action both inside the territory and in the northern part, not only at the border crossings, but where customs and border crossings are conducted, and for other sanitation services. But in particular, health checks are about coronary. I think it's time for our institutions to operate there, in collaboration with KFOR and other international institutions. to co-manage the situation north”, he says.

Former KLA Military Police Commander warns that it is the last time the country's institutions are put in motion and operate even inside municipalities and manage the situation on the basis of Kosovo's laws and Constitution.

“Since the announcement of the emergency situation, I have appealed that in the north be carried out not only in border controls but also in the inside of the northern part of Kosovo, that is, by acting in that order it fits that time of restricting freedom of movement that is seen in us. and not to be declared as in Serbia, where in three days the order has declared quarantine to all citizens in Serbia. I think it's supposed to fit our software, not just we're spectators, and someone else will handle the interior management part of the four municipalities that are in the north”, he says.

Former commander Leka points out that Serbs can exploit the situation and in the name of health create space to take any specific action that would be at the expense of Kosovo, but also citizens there.

I would appeal that the aid coming from abroad, especially in the northern part, is controlled, but the issue of moving suspicious persons of parallel structures, but also Serbia's intelligent services, as there has been information that is spread there and has a specific purpose that by exploiting the situation of this pandemic they take certain actions in the north. So we have to be careful”, he says.

Ibishi says local institutions must co-operate closely with KFOR, but other international institutions operating in Kosovo, to find a way to manage the situation and put the situation under control.

“KFOR performs its tasks, which it has envisioned through Resolution 1244 in its mandate. The issue of his silence is more of a co-operative aspect. But whatever it is, they are willing to act at the right time. But we need to be much more active even in terms of security and intelligence and to be much more cooperative with KFOR, for other international institutions present in Kosovo. So we have to be careful in this situation, not just in the health aspect”, he says.

The introduction of the northern Mitrovica and Zvecan quarantine with Serbia's orders is considered intervention in Kosovo's state territory, while the Kosovo government on Saturday announced that this step was taken at the Order of the Health Ministry and with full co-ordination with relevant municipalities.
