The decision was made after a quarter of the coronary patients attending the study began to have heart rate problems after they received the largest dose of the two doses being used.
Klorokina and hydroxiclorokina have been praised by US President Donald Trump as effective anti-commercial substances, since on the basis of some early tests they were believed to prevent the virus from entering the cell, writes “Daily Mail”.
For a long time, however, it has been known that such drugs can have serious side effects, including changes in heart rate, which can cause sudden death.
Research launched in the town of Manaus was planned to include 440 patients in serious condition who would use two different doses of chlorophycin, but scientists reported the results after treating only 81 patients.
A quarter of those who received 600 milligrams of this substance from twice a day for ten days began to have heart rate problems, so scientists cut off this part of the study.
Scientists said only one researcher had no marks of the virus in his throat after treating these drugs. The results of the investigation have not yet been assessed by other scientists.
