CNN tells us what's happening at the giant La Almudana cemetery in Madrid, where Father Eddady formalises the rite. First he greets his family, no more than five, then the heavy driver opens the trunk from which a wooden coffin appears.
From beginning to end, blessings and prayers last only five minutes. Father Edward's priest distributes holy water in the closed coffin, which is then loaded into a cart and goes for burns.
After the coffin is removed, another arrives immediately, almost every quarter hour.
Some people broadcast funeral phones to their family and friends who were unable to attend. /Attish
