(6 years ago)The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has arrested an employee at the Pristina police station today, following a citizen's complaint that the police in question had exercised violence against him on April 5th 2020 in the sector “Velania” in the capital. According to family members, 21-year-olds had suffered head injuries after an incident with a police official.
The police official's arrest has been done on suspicion that he committed criminal work “mishandling during the exercise of official office”.
At the prosecutor's decision, he was assigned a 48-hour ban and suspended from office.
The IPK will continue investigations to clarify the circumstances of this incident, in ongoing consultation with the prosecutor responsible.
