Poland, the largest economy on the eastern side of the European Union, began the removal of several restrictive measures even in the first part of April with the aim of economic recovery.
Morawiecki also reaffirmed the government's plan to hold presidential elections on May 10th, or with a delay of several weeks, despite calls by opposition parties for these elections to be postponed for a longer time because of the pandemic.
He made it known that the decision to drop other measures, including the reopening of restaurants, would be taken on another date. Poles are still obliged to wear masks in public spaces, while schools will remain closed until May 24th.

So far, 12,415 cases of Coronavirus and 606 victims have been recorded in the state of 38 million people.
