Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Ariana Musliu-Sashi has asked incumbent Foreign Affairs Minister Glauk Konjufca not to leave office and legal responsibilities to care for Kosovo citizens abroad.
MP Musliu-Scheshi has written on her Facebook page that there are two thousand Kosovo citizens trapped who want to return home as soon as possible because they have been without financial means and are running out of visas.
She says the task of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to care for citizens has been handed over to the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“The government dismissed to take appropriate actions to bring all our citizens back home, not to take it by demanding diaspora charity or to deal with accepting charity from Serbia”, Shoshi said.
The full statement of Ariana Musliu-Sshi:
Kosovo's Foreign Affairs Minister has disappeared from recent developments, fleeing his state responsibilities towards our remaining citizens abroad at this time of pandemic. It is about two thousand Kosovo citizens who have voiced the need to return home as soon as possible because they are being left without money, visa validity and expired insurance.
Minister Konjufca has only been dealt with dismissals in the MPJ and has not been heard to say a single word about our state's care for these citizens who are trapped outside without their will as a result of the pandemic.
All competencies for the care of our remaining citizens and their repatriation have been left to the Ministry of Infrastructure, while the Foreign Ministry has this responsibility directly.
I invite the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the minister to do their duty for which they have legal responsibility. It is imperative that this banned government take appropriate action to bring all our citizens back home, and not to take it by asking for diaspora charity or to deal with Serbia's admission of charity.
