The first patient with Avid-19 to take plasma from a healed patient in Delhi has shown positive results with notable improvement in his health condition and recently removed from the fan.
On April 4th, the 49-year-old male patient tested positive and was admitted to Max Hospital in New Delhi.
However, his condition deteriorated over the next few days, and he soon developed pneumonia with a respiratory failure, type I, after which he was immediately placed in the ventilator.
When the patient did not show any improvement in his condition, his family requested plasma therapy from the hospital.
The plasma donor had recovered from infection as confirmed by two successive negative reports made three weeks ago and again resulted negative in donation time along with other standard tests to exclude infections like Hep B, Hep C and HIV.
The patient after receiving plasma showed improvement and until the fourth day left the fan. He moved into a room with monotoim all the time and now he's even started taking oral food.
