Despite the situation created by COVID-19, the influx of patients to the University Clinical Centre's Emergency Centre of Kosovo has not marked a decline, as long as there are other clinics working with custody, only emergency cases are being accepted.

This centre, both theatre and reference for the whole of Kosovo, is accepting patients with different diseases.

Basri Lenyan, director of the Emergency Centre, told Radio Free Europe, that the burden has fallen on this clinic, since emergency patients are heading towards it.

As for the time since the first cases of Corleone were presented, the first two weeks have been just those that needed emergency health services, and last week the number of patients has increased because under the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, there are no expert ambulances, which have frequent controls, and this has increased the number of cases requiring assistance”.

There are also patients from the Family Medicine Centers as well as the Regional Hospital. We have appealed that the Emergency Clinic is only for people who have emergency cases, but the old ava has been going on so that people and the emergency people can re-run emergency service, and it's certainly making it difficult for us, Lenyan said.

But, Nehat Baftiu, director of Anesthesia Clinic and Intensive Medicine, said that in the clinic he heads, the number of patients has been reduced. There are only 10 patients in this clinic, while 40 surgical operating halls are operating only emergency cases.

“In intensive treatment has conspicuously reduced the number of patients. We have 27 beds and only 10 patients down. At the same time from 40 surgical intervention halls as we own, only emergency cases are under way. But the number of patients seeking medical attention has declined. It is only an emergency they do not expect, they ask for help, and it is offered to aid”.

“Citizens have been aware that it's dangerous at the time of the choreographer, and they're saving themselves and the medical staff, so it's about those operations that can wait, Baftiu said.

Otherwise, on Monday, three patients who have received treatment under the Emergency Clinic, having received samples as suspects for COVID-19, after the results confirmed by the Microbiology lab at the National Public Health Institute have resulted positive.

Officials within this centre say that suspected people with coronarys should head to the Infectious Clinic, since the staff there is equipped with adequate clothing, until staff are wearing masks and simple gloves.

This is making the health staff feel threatened by potential infected patients.

With the latest numbers, according to I KKPK's number of infected people in Kosovo total 184, while the victims are five. So far, there are 30 people.
