The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebrreesus, has warned countries planning to ease safeguard clauses in the fight against the Devov-19 pandemic to be ready for rapid reaction in the event it comes to a new wave.
Tedros, during a virtual meeting with the ministers of health of G20 member states, has stated he is encouraging the fact that some member states plan to ease restrictive measures due to pandemic.
However, reports the AP, it is essential that the easing of these restrictive measures be implemented gradually.
Softening the restrictive measures according to him does not mean that the epidemic in any country is over, “but that just started a new phase”.
The “is very important that, in the next phase, countries are more educated, engage and prepare citizens to prevent and react quickly in the event of a new Coronavirus wave. Ensure enough capacity to run tests, isolate and care for anyone infected and trace contacts that could have been”, he added.
WHO leader has expressed concern with strengthening the pandemic of Coronavirus in poor countries that lack resources for fighting with the large number of positive cases.
