The Special Prosecutor has filed charges against former ministers Mimoza Kusari Lila, Besim Beqaj, Dardan Gashi, Nenad Rassic and former KEK director Arben Djuka, for the case known as the Faleration of hydropower plants.

MP Kusari-Lila through a Facebook response says that for this topic in general and for this investigation in particular, for the first time, she was informed in 2015, when she had left the Ministry of Trade and Industry and was elected head of the Gjakova municipality.

She says that in 2016 she was invited to police interview.

Full response:

Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,

Today I was informed that the Kosovo Special Prosecutor has filed charges against me, three other former Ministers from the Thaci government, 2 and 15 other people, on charges “the misuse of official position and authority”. The issue in question relates to the privatisation of the KEK distribution network, sales with the distribution network of four hydropower plants, respectively, in 2013.

For the first time in 2015, when I had just left the Ministry of Trade and Industry and had been elected head of the Gjakova municipality.

In the meantime, in 2016, I was once invited by the Kosovo police to witness quality, and for the first time on this subject I was invited by the Kosovo prosecution in November 2019, when the prosecutor in the interview declared that <x0thm everything is ready and more reasonings you can give to Court”.

From that interview, I became convinced that this act would have been established, so today nothing unexpected happened to me.

Treating the sale of four hydropower plants as part of the KEK distribution should be revealed to public opinion. Also, any details of KEK's privatisation must be cleared from the first decision to privatise KEK by the Thaci government 1 in 2008 and the second decision by Thaci Government 2 in 2011. In particular, it should be cleared if there were any discussions or other information that were supposed to be dealt with in the same way, like the issue we're being charged with and we haven't even discussed in the official process.

The truth should be dawned because by the time we have addressed the privatisation of the KEK distribution, we have not been introduced to the inclusion of hydropower plants in official inter-ministerial Committee meetings from the project implementation unit, nor to the privatisation host ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development.

This situation must end with epilogue in which justice must prevail.

In personal capacity, this is my struggle to protect my job, commitment and trust, and I have always had in building the Republic of Kosovo. In the Republic developed and equal for all, where no one is above the law and no one can become the law.
Even though we have a long way to make society, I believe in the rule of law and I am convinced that justice will prevail.

For all those who believe in me, my work and my commitment, for all who were with me, with me and in my support, this is only a challenge on our way forward, but neither is the final destination of our effort and engagement for the past 11 years that I have been active in Kosovo politics.

I feel free today that no one will ever hold the investigation on my head, just as for years this case was handled depending on the political flows in the country. Now we will tell facts and truths in the Court, where justice alone must triumph.

For the media, which today during the day contacted me constantly on this subject, this text is also my official proposal, while further discussion of the case will be addressed at the Court.

The health benefits for you and your families and don't forget, no matter what political themes, the most important thing today is to respect the calls of health officials for measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Ovid19 So, Stay at Home
